At the heart of her practice is continuity of care, LiLien builds meaningful, trusting relationships with the families she supports. She believes that consistent presence fosters emotional safety, deeper connection, and greater confidence — allowing clients to feel truly seen, heard, and supported throughout their journey.

Name

Suzie

Registered Nurse (RN)

I'm Suzie.

I often reflect on my first opportunity to witness a birth. I arrived expecting my fears to be confirmed, that labour and childbirth were something to be feared. Instead, I witnessed a woman’s body adapt and transform through the process of labour. What I had anticipated would be terrifying revealed itself to be an experience filled with profound beauty and strength.

Over the past 18 years, I have built a diverse nursing career, with the majority of my experience rooted in Labour and Delivery at the Canmore General Hospital, as well as in the Emergency Department. I have also worked in Labour and Delivery at the Rockyview General Hospital. Throughout my career, I have taken on a variety of roles, including serving as a Clinical Nurse Educator in Canmore, where I supported colleagues in developing their skills and contributed to improving patient care at a local systems level. Currently, my practice is focused on providing hands-on care to patients in both labour and emergency settings while balancing 'mom life'.

I am deeply passionate about teaching and delivering practical, meaningful education. I believe that when individuals understand the “why” behind their care, they are empowered to take an active role in their health journey. It is important to me that those I care for feel heard, respected, and truly at the centre of their care experience.

Outside of work, I have two incredible kiddos of my own and you may find us, tromping along the river valley, going for a paddle or foraging for berries in the garden.

I’m excited to be part of the Elevare team, a group of passionate RNs who genuinely care about helping you feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout your journey into parenthood. I’m really looking forward to connecting with you!
